Document Retrieval Overview

Paper is highly porous. If it has been directly impacted with blood or other potentially infectious materials, it must be transported to a medical waste facility for destruction. If we discover that any important documents have been damaged, the senior technician will discuss with you the procedures that need to be taken in order to salvage as much information from the documents as possible.

All BioteamOR senior technicians are trained to recognize important documents such as:

  • Wills
  • Trusts
  • Estate planning documents
  • Company paperwork
  • Financial Documents
  • Bills

You may need several of these documents prior to us completing the biohazard remediation. We aim to anticipate and exceed all our clients’ needs. As such, upon request, a senior technician will go to the property prior to the start of work to look for any important documentation, at no cost to you.

Most other items should remain in the home or property until the completion of our decontamination service. If there is any chance of them having been impacted by bacteria or pathogens, leaving them in the home will ensure that they are included in our extensive decontamination process. We will work with you to decide the most appropriate plan of action for your particular situation.

How It Works

Bacteria & Germ Testing

Our technicians at BioteamOR perform ATP (Adenosine triphosphate) tests at the start and end of our remediation service. The ATP test allows us to measure the presence of actively growing odor-causing microorganisms.

Personal Property List

Items that have been in contact with bodily fluids and are porous or semi-porous must undergo appropriate treatment. In most cases, these items will need to be disposed of at an approved biohazardous waste treatment facility.

Post-Remediation Evaluation

If requested, we are happy to provide a post-remediation certification to you, property management, or your insurance company. This certification serves as proof that the property has undergone thorough evaluation.
